Moreover, an Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) program is usually fully booked. In most institutions, you will find a long wait list, even up to two years for the ADN program, whereas the LPN/LPV usually has no waiting list. Therefore, you can easily kick start your career as soon as you are able.

Speed

The program is faster than other programs. You can complete the curriculum in 1-2 years. Whether you are working full time or you are a working parent with a tight schedule, you can complete the program at the stipulated time. Moreover, the ADN program takes longer to complete because of class schedules whereas LPN/LPV takes a shorter time.

Legitimacy


Although you do not need a college degree to study LPN/LPV programs, you are required to study in accredited institutions so that you can receive a post-secondary degree award and progress in your career. The LPN course will count as a credit when you want to advance and be a registered nurse.

Once you complete the program, you can apply for a practicing license in the nursing board in your state. If you meet the eligibility criteria and pass the NCLEX-PN nursing examination, you will get a practicing license.
