Balancing Home & Work

Today's busy lives don't leave much time for much, other than work, home, and what has to get done.   Is it possible to create a perfect balance of home and work?   Expert organizers say yes.   Organize at Home If you take your next two off days and organize things at home, you will end up with much more time on workdays, it is worth it if you always feel the day ends with your to do list undone.   Start with your closet .   Organize scrub tops with matching pants and pair together.   Put similar colors together so they are easy to locate.   If you wear shirts under scrub tops, place them with the scrubs, it will save time when you are getting ready.   Organize kids closets and drawers as well.   For children that are dressing themselves, use a color code system.   Using fabric markers of various colors, do green on the pants and green on the matching shirt.   Just place the small green dot inside of the garment, and teach kids to match the dots. Nursing Styles and Flexibility

Nurses may seem like superheroes at times, but they are still people, very hard-working people, but still people.   They have personalities, unique to themselves, just as everyone does.   With every nurse is a different personality, and this what creates a different style of nursing for each nurse. Direct & To the Point The direct and to-the-point nurse cares for their patients just as every other nurse. They just don't exactly display the emotions as much.   They tend to be direct, and say what they mean, without adding a lot of idle talk or humor to the conversation at hand.   Some patients prefer someone that is very matter-of-fact, in their mannerism, and would just as soon skip the friendly talk and get right to the point.   The pros of the more direct nurse are that they tend to be very forthcoming with information, if they know something about your condition, then you will know something as well,   the nurse delivers information you are entitled to.    Patients

Balancing Work and a Social Life

It's not always easy working full time, having responsibilities, and having a social life, but it is possible.   You know better than anyone that nurses are busy, often working long hours with exhausting shifts. It can be a challenge to put work aside and find some “me” time.   Related: Working with Stroke Patients   Organization It may seem that taking time out to organize is using up even more precious time; however you will find out, it pays off in the long run.   Take one off day, and organize, just to see how it works over the following month. Organize scrubs- a little work in the closet can save a lot of time when getting ready for work. Hang scrub tops with matching pants to make it easy to grab in a hurry. Make sure everything in the closet is organized and accessible, including shoes. If you’re not using organizing apps take a couple hours to learn about the latest ones. There are calendar apps with combined reminders, and to do lists. These are great f
